Grass & Weed Ordinance In Effect:
Don't wait until you're issued a warning (or worse, a citation)! Re-familiarize yourself with the ordinance requirements below.
“These ordinances maintain the appearance of our community but they are also important for the health and safety of our residents. Mosquitoes and other pests are drawn to tall vegetation, debris and standing water.”
Lawn, grass and weeds must be mowed or trimmed to 12" or lower in height.
Weeds—consisting of all weeds, grass, brush, wildings, second growth and other vegetation that is not growing in its proper place—must be removed or trimmed.
If you own a property—even if you don't live there—you are required by ordinance to keep it free of weeds/grass.
If you are found to have grass and/or weeds in excess of the allowed, you will receive a warning notice. Upon receiving this notice, you have 10 days to correct the issue(s); otherwise, a citation will be issued.
Contact us at 903-796-7986 ex. 1 for more information about reclaims,
adoptions and the animal control ordinance. Follow our facebook page for more information.
Send us a message with any questions or concerns, and we'll get back to you with answers as soon as we can.
