Queen City Police Department has openings for the following:
DETECTIVE – (Must be a peace officer for a minimum of 2 years with report writing experience)
Full time patrol officer- (Must be able to work flexible hours)
Part time officer- (work up to 24 hours per week*)
Position Descriptions
The Queen City Texas Police Department is responsible for enforcing all state and local laws and providing for the safety of the citizens we serve. Our police officers conduct numerous law enforcement tasks including:
o Arresting offenders
o Enforcing traffic laws
o Investigating crimes
o Investigating motor vehicle crashes
o Patrolling assigned areas
o Responding to calls for police service.
Our officers are expected to be proactive and to build positive relationships within the community. Working in a spirit of cooperation with citizens, our officers suppress crime and resolve problems in the community, thereby making Queen City a safer place to live, work and play.
Minimum Qualifications
o Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and certified by the State of Texas as a licensed peace officer.
o Applicants must possess a valid driver's license from their current state of residence, and they must possess a high school diploma or a general equivalency development certificate (GED).
o Applicants must be a citizen of the United States, be of good moral character, and be able to perform the essential job functions of a police officer.
o Applicants must be able to pass a preemployment drug screen, physical and phycological exam.
o A thorough background investigation will be conducted on each applicant to determine their suitability for employment.
